A Nylock Nut, also referred to as a nylon-insert lock nut, polymer-insert lock nut, or elastic stop nut, is an innovative self-locking fastener. The design features a non-metallic (typically Nylon 66) collar insert located at the top of the nut, having an inner diameter slightly smaller than the major diameter of the mating screw thread.
When the mating male fastener is threaded into the lock nut, it forces its way through the unthreaded nylon collar. Rather than cutting the nylon, the mating thread elastically compresses the insert. This compression develops a radial frictional force around the threads, creating a high level of "prevailing torque." The resulting interference fit prevents the fastener from backing off even when subjected to severe, continuous transverse vibration (Junker testing parameters).
Our OEM Nylock Nuts are engineered to minimize thread wear, maintaining locking capability through multiple assembly cycles, while protecting structural joints in dynamic systems.

Established in 2006, Sinsun Hardware has grown to become Northern China's leading manufacturer of high-end fasteners. Operating from a state-of-the-art 30,000 sqm integrated facility, our monthly output reaches over 3,000 tons. We manage over 20,000 SKUs, ensuring that our clients from automotive, construction, and power sectors have access to reliable components.
Providing reliable fastening solutions designed for specific environment requirements across different regions.
Nylock Nuts are utilized in steering joints, shock absorber mounts, engine components, and battery pack enclosures. Our nuts withstand constant road vibration, heat cycles, and exposure to corrosive de-icing agents.
Outdoor utility-scale solar arrays experience wind-induced dynamic loads. Our hot-dip galvanized and zinc-nickel plated lock nuts provide dependable self-locking performance, resisting UV exposure and moisture for over 25 years.
Used on earthmoving gear, agricultural harvesters, and industrial vibratory feeders, Sinsun Nylock Nuts prevent joint failures under shear and torsional stress, keeping down-time to a minimum.

Our journey of expansion, technological integration, and industry leadership.
Sinsun Hardware established, focusing on high-quality fasteners manufacturing in Northern China.
Expanded operations to service international industrial networks across Europe and South America.
Upgraded our cold heading division with precision German and Taiwanese equipment.
Attained an annual output of 36,000 tons, supported by four continuous heat treatment lines.
Ensuring maximum performance and zero defects under extreme working conditions.
We test our Nylock Nuts using the DIN 65151 Junker method to evaluate self-locking capability. The test measures clamping force retention during intense transverse loading to confirm performance limits.
With advanced chemical coatings including Dacromet, Geomet, and Zinc-Nickel electroplating, our lock nuts are tested to withstand over 1,000 hours of salt spray testing (ASTM B117), preventing corrosion in harsh environments.
We analyze the coefficient of friction and tightening torque relationship using torque-tension testing, helping to ensure consistent clamp load across production batches.
How we solve real-world fastening challenges with custom engineering and material adjustments.
Challenge: A Tier-1 automotive supplier faced fastening loosening issues in heavy duty suspension joints when using standard lock nuts.
Sinsun Solution: We developed custom flange Nylock nuts utilizing high-tensile alloy steel (Class 10) matched with a heat-stabilized Nylon 66 collar, keeping thread tolerances tightly controlled.
Result: Assemblies successfully passed 2,000-hour dynamic vibration tests without backing off, maintaining target clamp load throughout the testing cycle.
Challenge: An offshore solar project required fasteners that could withstand high wind loads and harsh saltwater environments.
Sinsun Solution: We supplied A4-80 (316 Grade) Stainless Steel Nylock Nuts treated with a specialty anti-galling lubrication layer to ease installation torque requirements.
Result: Zero fastener failures were reported after long-term marine deployment, and the assemblies retained structural integrity under tough offshore conditions.
